At Tira&Misu Jewelry, we are dedicated to bringing coquette and unique jewelry at affordable price points. Our collections are perfect for fashion enthusiasts who love thoughtful gifts for themselves or their loved ones.
Where it all began
With a landscape design paper from Edinburgh finally in my grasp, I spent a few years doing fashion design, landscape design, and education design. In 2022, I moved to Vancouver searching for fresh opportunities. I've always thought about pursuing entrepreneurship — I thought to myself, why not now? A lot of hours poured into research and discovered that there's a demand for coquette jewelry in the Canadian market. So, I decided to start Tira&Misu Jewelry in 2023 to sell uniquely crafted minimalistic coquette jewelry that is also affordable!
Roots of Tira&Misu Jewelry
The Name
Many have asked me where the name Tira&Misu Jewelry comes from. The answer? It's a story about love and dachshunds. I adore these charming little dogs, and my boyfriend and I plan to get two of them, naming them Tira and Misu. And... as you can guess by now where we got our name for the brand! :)
The Brand
And well, instead of dachshunds, we created bunnies for the branding. The two bunnies, Tira and Misu represent a combination of styles: Tira, the innocent white bunny, has a flair for the unique and coquettish whereas Misu, the mature brown bunny, adores all things elegant and feminine.
The Challenges
I started by investing a large chunk of time and capital into digital marketing and trying to find a good addressable market at the same time. I struggled to concoct the right "recipe" for a while and seeing my savings dwindle was incredibly stressful especially.
The Opportunity
I went from focusing on only digital channels to adding the offline arm into my marketing channels. I quickly found the strategy shift incredibly helpful for me to connect with my clients in person. Eventually, I started putting together uniquely designed displays, handcrafted merchandise, and physical branding materials. Before I realized it, the business began growing from there!
Today
I work on Tira&Misu Jewelry full-time, and we are a small team now who constantly explore new designs and stylings all the while still keeping the products affordable and our customers fulfilled! Our focus is on creating jewelry that's perfect for everyone, whether it's a gift for a loved one or a treat for yourself.
